[ QUOTE ]
Its funny that many 6 players have foregone the 8 game altogether, because of the swinginess. I think playing 2 years in the 8 game helped to me to absorb bad beats better and therefore tilt less. Avoiding profitable situations because you might take a few nasty beats or run bad for awhile is not a great mindset if you are trying to become a great player. [/ QUOTE ] this is actually something i do not necessarily agree with. Some people are great poker players but simply can not deal with ridiculous things over and over again, therefore they play a lower variance game with lower EV swing decisions. Though, passing the 8/16 game may be giving up some EV, i think for a certain type of person it is not as bad as you make it seem. I think that there are very good players out there that if they looked at themselves very closely, and their play in different situations, that should alter their game selection to increase their EV, just simply based on how they play/how they react to poor play. Didn't word that exactly as i wanted but hopefully you get the jist. |
