Can I play from the US if I am Canadian?

I am Canadian and have been playing on Party without any problems. As Im typing this, Im in my hotel room near the Bike in LA. I logged on to my Party acct and theres a pop up that says something to the effect of "the President of the United States has made it illegal to take deposits and accept wagers from US residents. Non US residents are not affected_"

Ive never seen this pop up when Im in Canada so Im worried they might somehow freeze my acct. Is it safe for me to play?
