Default Re: Dixie Chicks

[ QUOTE ]
My GF loves them and I actually enjoyed their PBS concert. The contraversy in Texas and across the nation is a fascist technique to stifle dissent.

[/ QUOTE ]

You realize how silly this statement is? You are willing to defend the Dixie Twits right to expression by supressing my right to cricize them for their expression. You r dissenet is ok, and mine isn't? That is what you are saying.

They weren't jailed ... there was no governmental censorship ... they were able to continue to say whatever they wanted negatively about Bush and the war, call him all sorts of names, etc. Those of us who disagreed with them expressed our feelings by not buying their albums or going to their concerts and calling them names. Seems to me that this worked out for everyone - a great example of freedom of speech for everyone involved.

The only one I see stifling dissent is you.
