Default Vegas for NCAA hoops 1st/2nd rounds

I'm sure this is posted around this time every year... but I gotta do it.

I'm trying to decide if its worth it to head to Vegas for the first weekend of the NCAA tourney. I really really like watching the games, so that would be my first priority... but I thought it'd be fun to bet on a lot of them and play some poker in the late evenings as well. Can anyone share their experiences about if there are good places to watch the games that don't require getting up at 5am to reserve a seat in the sports book, or how crazy Vegas gets that weekend? Are there lots of good poker side games too with all the tourists in town?

Thanks!
