[ QUOTE ]
I've never watched the show but I keep seeing the ad for "special 4 hour -two night premiere". What kind of stupid gimmick crap is that? It's such a stupid idea and it doesn't even make sense, this alone makes me not want to watch. [/ QUOTE ] Most shows start around September or so and run 24 episodes until May or so. Rudimentary math shows that there are many more than 24 weeks to show 24 episodes, so most shows have long stretches where they show repeats. Fox markets 24 as being a must see every week. Therefore, they start the show in January and end in May. No repeats. Just a new episode every week. IMO, every show should be new every week. I hate repeats. A 2-day, 4-hour premiere serves another purpose--it gives the producers a chance to solve a problem over a 4 hour time line. One problem of the show is that in each episode, there is a problem and a resolution within the hour (only to have a new problem show up at the end of the hour). The 4-hour premiere solves the problem by having a longer story arc than the typical episode. |
