I'm going to give my list of stars complaints regarding software and game structure issues, but first want to give my biggest which is how they through Lee interacts with 2+2 here. And that is simply that often they only selectively respond to issues we raise, while ignoring ones they don't wish to address. When Lee or whoever from stars sees any issue raised, the should do one of the following:
1) Give an immediate answer even if they know we won't like it or it involves being honest as to their putting a priority on making maximal profit even if it involves pissing us off regarding a specific issue. 2) Tell us they will discuss an issue in house and get back to us soon, and then do so. 3) Point us to where they already addressed this issue in another thread or on their site. Thus they should actually give a non-evasive honest and concrete response to each issue raised, instead of cherry picking the easiest ones to respond to, and then think they should be given credit for addressing our concerns, when they haven't done so fully and have refused to address many issues. Regarding my specific issues: 1) Fix the problem that involves multiple focus issues As in where you get a table available announcement and then are forced to another table for action. This can lead to where you can't return to the table available box and click to be taken to the table. Also when you get that announcement, you should be able to take a seat reserved for you without going through the table available dialogue, which would be a way around these gliches. The other day, and something that occurs at least a couple times a week for me, I got a popup for a table I wanted a seat on, got forced to another table to act, minimized the lobby somehow, and now could not return to the popup or pull the lobby back up, and lost my seat as a result and had to get back on the list. Very annoying, even I did inadvertently do something to cause the situation. Also, the player should control his own focus, instead of aggressively having that controlled by the software. Although doubtless stars wants a faster pace to speed up the rake, they should achieve that priority by speeding up the action on the tables, and not penalyzing us with this hyper-aggro focus priority. 2) Getting rid of HUDs should be seen as a game integrity issue The reasons for doing so were expressed well by other posters here, so I won't repeat them, except to say this should not just be seen as a fishy player longevity issue, but also as an issue involving game integrity, just like with bots. 3) Raise the minimum buyin in big bet games This has also been discussed in the past, and is the subject of a couple threads in the PLO high forum that are running now. The min buyin should be 40bb at least, to prevent the shortstackers from ruining the games. And I will repeat again what I have said repeatedly on this and other issues: any structure that encourages overly tight play is bad for the games. Also these shortstackers ARE NOT PRIMARILY FISH WHO COULD LOSE A LOT TAKING SHOTS - THEY ARE WEAK-TIGHTS WHO SHOULDN'T BE ACCOMODATED TO THE DEGREE THEY ARE NOW. Having a 40bb min buyin is a reasonable change, that STILL accomodates short stackers, but just not as much. I want to repeat again, that issues like I just raised are tougher ones, and ones that deserved to be answered. Stars should not receive cred for coming to 2+2 and working with us when they won't fully and honestly address such issues, and instead only choose to respond to easier fluffier issues. However, I also want to say that I hold Lee in the highest regard, and realize he isn't the owner of the site, and that he has limitations as to what he is allowed to discuss. So any negative comments about refusing to answer tough questions I mostly put on his bosses. Also, I still think stars is a great site that does most things very well. I just hope that they have a committment to getting even better and to honestly addressing all of our concerns. |
