Default Re: Never Trust Anyone

Keeping in mind that I'm "new" to this forum (although not new to poker and many of you will know me) I thought another woman's perspective on this might add a little something-something.

1. I can't seem to grasp how Brandi and Captain Tom ended up staying in the same room, PERIOD. I have been backed, I have traveled with fellow male poker players, I have been mentored, etc. However, I have never stayed with that person in the same room, thus I have never had to be worried about a penis in my back.*

(*Note: From someone I didn't want to have that happen from, that is. : )

2. I blame the poker media and I blame all the 20-something (well, actually, maybe I should just say ALL men) who actually put her in the "hot poker babe" position that she seems to have been put in because a. she cashed in a (or few?) events and b. because she's young, pretty and has nice boobs.*

(*Note: I didn't say "ALL MEN", I said "All" men who put her in that position, either in their minds or...well, yeah...in their minds.)

3. I am appalled at her behaviour and her post. I have posted a LOT of personal information about myself on the internet, through RGP or through my blog, but GOOD GRIEF, if anything like this (or anything even CLOSE) ever happened to me, I'd have covered it up myself in about 2 seconds.*

(*Note: Of course, nothing even close to this dramatic would ever happen to me because I WOULD NOT LET IT.)

4. In the poker world and community, I feel your name and reputation are the only thing you have going for you. Once you ruin it, it's over. It's all gone, you're DONE. (ie: Dutch Boyd) So, it's a shame that an up and coming female, who may have really had a good chance of becoming another great female player had to ruin it all with dramatics.

5. I can only hope that this post/thread/female player doesn't make the majority of other posters/players think that all poker playing women are like this, or out to get your money.
