I'm guessing because his last name is an adjective that you'd use on occasion for some poker maneuvers? If someone named Alan Blough made a TV table, they'd refer to him by his full name. Unless it was VVP behind the mic, in which case we'd have to deal with all sorts of awful awful jokes.
