nath, shouldn't we factor in our expectation vs. the field, dictating that in Azaria's instance this is an automatic call because he has a negative expecation vs the field?

To simplify, let's assume heads-up play and we're a very good player facing a poor player where the good player has a 60% likelihood of winning each hand. Why in a +ev situation with qq vs ak would we call knowing that every other hand we have far superior expectation of winning?

Because in reality people don't have edges this big, and one major mistake many weak-tight players make in tournaments is overestimating their advantage vs. the field and passing on profitable situations as a result.
