Rick,
I only know plain English. Scorcese uses one shot of a shower head, but, of course, DiCaprio's character is a bit of a Norman Bates type with his own brand of identity confusion. On subtext of the film is the father/son relationships running throughout--not quite the mother/son from Psycho but close enough. BTW, I saw the movie with a date, my first one in say twenty years. (Is a thirty-five year old too young for me?) John P.S. A student told me she also saw the film last weekend, and she pronounced it with a perfect Boston accent: "The Depaaated." She also said the language was pretty bad, abd that there were a lot of old people in the audience, you know people in their fifties. |
