For You Canadians: Are we next?

While I would feel safer with a different government in power, I see no indications to worry about Canada following the US on this issue. AFAIK, in the US, certain rogue senators and congressmen had been pursuing such legislation for nearly 10 years. I have heard nothing of the sort here.

As we have seen down there though, it only takes one zealot to push a bill like this through. Can anyone here with a good understanding of Canadian politics provide some insight on the norms here vis a vis piggybacking small unpopular bills onto much bigger popular ones?
