If you really are that phobic about the phone, email her, but that is lame.

Try writing down what you want to say. Like:

"Hi, it's Kyro. I'm calling about Saturday night, would you like to go to XXX for dinner then YYY for drinks?" (Be specific if you cannot improvise well on the phone).

Then you can beg off. You don't have to have a conversation on the phone. You can say either something like "I am in the middle of something but I didn't want to leave you hanging" or "I am on my way out the door" or "I really suck at talking on the phone, I just freeze up, but I don't do that when talking in person."

If you call her on Saturday she may very well have made other plans (hell, she may have by now).
