I don't expect Conservatives or Liberals to ever come to terms with their differences. Their world views and psychological makeups are just too different. For me as a pretty radical Liberal, pride is okay if it's seen as something to laugh and joke about. But dangerous, if it gets one indignant. All in all, it's a pretty useless and mostly counter-productive emotion, and no Conservative would ever agree with that.
