Hi John!,
Good to hear from you. Anyway... [ QUOTE ] Based on your advice here some years ago, I bought a Flowbee last winter. I used it to cut my hair to 1" all over. Worked great, though I did sort of mess up the back the first time. [/ QUOTE ] Good move, this validates all those posts I made over the years I'm 2" all around, but use the graduated plastic offset piece (2" on one side, about 1" on the other) to go around the bottom of the side and back. But a trim of the very back needs scissors every month or so (unless you want a real shaggy look), so I need help at least in the back. I'm glad I didn't grow up in the last ten or twenty years, I think I would look really look bad with the very short "high and tight" style hair. My ears are way too big and long (think LBJ) and essentially I'm a pencil necked geek, so I have lots of sins that can be covered with hair. But I no longer keep a lot of hair in front of the ear; I eventually realized that looks sort of like a bald guy with a comb over . [ QUOTE ] For the last several months, though, I've been letting my hair grow out. Going for a late '70s Keith Carradine look, though I'm not sure my hair will do it. [/ QUOTE ] I had to Google image Keith Carradine to refresh my memory, but that would look good for you, especially since you live in one of those ex-hippie sort of towns [ QUOTE ] But no one need laugh at the Flowbee. If you have a simple style, like 1" all over, it's the perfect hair cutting machine. [/ QUOTE ] If you like an occasional glass of wine you need to try my other big money saving tip - boxed wine. If you see it in one of those fancy grocery stores (your state's version of Whole Foods Market) or even in Target, try it. Listen to enough of my tips and you can retire even earlier! [ QUOTE ] BTW, I've reverted to a parted style too. To hell with what's in style; I'm goin' with what I like. [/ QUOTE ] Me too. Hard to adapt hew styles as you age. But I do like those baggy cargo pants and shorts for playing poker. Otherwise I keep the preppy look I grew up with. Take Care, ~ Rick |
