Isn't that one of the benefits of the separation of powers, that 'unjust' laws may not be enforced by the police? Also, as part of a follow-up to another thread, which was about a young guy stopped for speeding or something, how tolerant would you be of people who choose to remain silent at all times when dealing with the police? For example, say you stopped a car for speeding or something. You're first question to the driver might be, "Where are you going?" If the driver chooses not to answer that question, is that going to alter the way you deal with him? Would you be angry? Would you be more inclined to issue him a ticket as opposed to a warning? |
