The Old 97s - Niteclub
It is fun to be in a bar with this on the jukebox, drunk off one's ass, singing along with a sad, anthemic chorus that culminates in "I just might get drunk tonight and burn the niteclub down!" The Commodores - Brick House Yeah, you hear it all the time. But it's the most danceable song of all time with THE funk bassline; it even makes clumsy nerds like me want to get up and shake my ass. Air - Moon Safari Tried to pick one song, but the album feels like one long, weird song such that any song by itself sounds out of context. The Queers - Mirage Live, because it is mixed poorly on an album. A cover of a Shondels song, this has a great build-up/release that is executed perfectly by the best post-Ramones pop-punk band in the history of ever. Weezer - Only in Dreams An under-stated and perhaps under-rated modern epic. |
