[ QUOTE ]
are you the internet police? have YOU bothered to do a seach before calling this poster a liar or are you just some kind of high school debater? [/ QUOTE ] lol. no i'm not the internet police. frankly i don't give a [censored] either way. when someone post saying they read something somewhere and they don't provide links to back it up i usually don't even finish reading their post. and i'm hardly a debater at all. i'm not very articulate and will not fair well in any debate. and i don't believe i ever called him a liar. he said [ QUOTE ] According to press reports [/ QUOTE ] and [ QUOTE ] In previous news reports [/ QUOTE ] and [ QUOTE ] The prosecutor in the Carruthers case also said [/ QUOTE ] i asked him [ QUOTE ] Did you make this up or can you provide links? [/ QUOTE ] and [ QUOTE ] i asked you for the links, you do the search. or don't post bs off the top of your head. [/ QUOTE ] if you construed me saying "don't post bs" as me calling him a liar, you are mistaken. the burden of "proof" should fall to the poster, not the reader. imo. yeah, i could google it, but i shouldn't have to. i'm supposed to just take his word that he's not making this [censored] up? I usually wouldn't respond, but it just happened to hit a nerve this time. I got two really good friends, one a staunch republican and one a die hard democrat. I kinda fall in between the two. But I get so friggin tired of hearing them spout all kinds of [censored] that they've managed to spin to benefit their side of the "truth". And even if OP provided the links, I would still be skeptical because I'm sure there are sources on both sides of the argument that will spin the story to a favorable support of their position. But at least post the links so someone who is interested can read the story for themselves and come to their own conclusions. and if you look hard enuf you may even find instances where i've violated my on position on this. It's just annoying to me to see people do this, that's all. peace |
