Default Re: UK HSP. phil ivey set to play. wheeeeeeeeee

Hmmm. As much as I'm looking forward to this, it does seem a bit like a Full Tilt infomercial as it's stacked so heavily with FT heavyhitters (Ferguson? Ivey? Seidel? WAH!? Why don't they appear on HSP!?!?).

Tony G's play will be interesting. He's stuck over $400,000 in Japan.

Ram Vaswani is probably a good shout as to who'd dare have a go. I have no idea of the significance of Devilfish's US TV ban after the Thanksgiving fiasco...it might make him a no-no even though it's technically a UK TV show.

I wouldn't restrict it to just the British who might appear. London's a darn sight nearer for European pros than Las Vegas is so we may see a few European players (c'mon Patrik Antonius and David Benyamine!).

...if it's mainly the FT pros plus one or two random elements, this show could get old really, really fast.

Is the $400/$800 blinds a slight dig at the $300/$600 blinds of HSP!?

Surprised Sky Sports/All In didn't pick a British-based guy to do the play-by-play though and then go with a US commentator for the US broadcast.

You're gonna have a lot of people in the UK wondering who you are, Dave as to why you're the only guy commentating.

Good luck though. If you've seen/heard any of the commentary on the British poker shows, you've got nothing to worry about.

It'll make a refreshing change from watching fricking shootouts (it's all there are in the UK it seems. ).
