bet sizes online/neccessary to overbet?

better question this time (maybe)

in online games, stt's and mtt's at lower levels, 10 dollars to 20 dollars, is it neccessary to adjust you standard bet amounts upward. i have found, pot sized bets don't seem to convey as much strenght, you almost need to overbet to get the respect...any thoughts. this would mean continuation bets, instead of half the pot, need to be pot sized or three quarters to work, but, then, you cut down on the profitablility of the play...stuck, i just might not use them as much
