First: Longtime reader, first time poster. I've learned a good bit from all of you that respond to hand history posts.
Second: My poker skill is questionable at the moment. Although I've won 3 of 5 live tournaments I've been in and final tabled the other two(all were in July and I would continue to play them but the casino poker room here was shut down), and I had tripled my online bankroll over three months, I've been running real bad the last month, started playing bad as a result, and then lost my entire online bankroll. (As a side note: I find it difficult to stay disciplined online, but not live). third: I'm not going to say online poker is rigged or not, I don't know it for a fact and everyone posting here doesn't either unless you've had certain priveledged access. The motive and the means are, however, certainly there. But here are two things, coincidences if you will, I have noticed at Poker Stars that certainly have raised my eyebrows: 1)If I run Poker Office overlay, my starting hands are always much worse. I will go hours without getting one single premium starting hand(AA-JJ, AKs, AQs) or will get them very occassionally, like maybe one every two hours. One an hour is like throwing me a bone, but never more. Turn off the overlay, they come in what appears to be the normal rate with standard variance. 2)If I am multi-tabling and if the cards are being dealt at a nearly identical time on 2 or more tables, they will be in the same or very similar rank. For instance, if one table is ATo, the other table will be ATo or A9s. If one table is 72, the other is 53. It SEEMS to happen very often and that is the kind of coincidence that is not very likely. I can easily see, however, that these could very well just be coincidences I am noticing and that online poker is still either rigged or legit. |
