Default Re: Why I don\'t tell people I play poker.

My grandmomther found out I play. Whenever I see her she asks me how I've done recently. But she has a problem understanding where the money comes from. She asks me how it "got in the computer" and how do I get it back..."do you just print it or something?". Needless to say, she's not quite up-to-speed with the whole internet/computer revolution.

When I tell somebody I make money online they usually ask if I could make money in a casino since on the internet I can't see faces. I tell them it's the same game and they can't fathom it.

And to the post a few posts above...I had a co-worker (who knows I play poker) talk to me about his "buddies who gamboool a lot". He was going on and on about how they could lose $50-100 and not even care. I casually bring up how I've lost thousands in no time. He never said another word about it.
