Wedding Reception Songs

I have a dilemma, and what better place to ask for advice could there be....

I have to select two songs to be played at my wedding reception. The first is for the song to be played as the wedding party is being introduced at the reception. I've suggested several metal songs as options, but I'm getting shot down. Any suggestions for music that doesn't suck that would fit the bill? I don't want to end up fighting a losing battle and ending up with something from Dave Matthews or Enya or something similarly horrible.

The second song is for the groom & mother dance. I hit a few sites that claim to specialize in selecting music, but they all were suggesting sappy love songs. Not my idea of a song I want to dance to with my mother. Again, any suggestions?
