[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] The tournament is in a private hall, not in a casino. [/ QUOTE ] All casinos are considered private property in Vegas. So even if the tournament was in the middle of the casino floor, technically, it is in a private hall. The law in regards to 21+ to play remains. [/ QUOTE ] I don't think they give any money out there. So it's as though we're playing for fun and I think that's legal? [/ QUOTE ] That's what I was thinking. I don't think an offshore casino would obtain or even be able to obtain a license to operate a tournament if it wasn't just for "fun" [/ QUOTE ] I can not imagine a site going through the trouble of putting on a tourney (and flying people out to it) that was played "just for fun." That make no sense. Who would even bother playing in a "just for fun" tourney in Vegas? It's not like money games are hard to come by in Vegas. The site would not need a gambling license. Any poker room is Vegas would be willing to host/run a private tourney...for the right price. I've played in a few of these (private tournies hosted by a casino) myself. |
