My girlfriend's cat looks very similar. Behaves the same way too. I've trained her to lie down in front of the monitor (rather than standing up) by physically moving her into a lying position and throwing her onto the nearby futon when she stands back up. She actually picked up on it right away.

Just to be clear, I like cats. I don't think throwing her onto a mattress is abusive or even mean. But you're free to use whatever sort of discipline you want. I'm just too lazy to go get the squirt bottle that we usually use.
