I'm a huge fan of both of these, but not sure that they fit within the "one sitting" criteria. If they do, I second them and nominate Neuromancer by Gibson as well.

Also, I'd like to second Johnny Mnemonic; Hollywood really didn't do the story justice.

Has anyone mentioned "I have no mouth and I must scream" by Harlon Ellison?
