Default Re: The Vegetarian Torture

[ QUOTE ]
come on now CMI, you are smart enough to pick up on the point i was making at the audacity of saying not eating meat lessened the "MISERY OF THE WORLD". i think the death of a couple of cows is a drop in the bucket versus fleecing degenerates of money for their kids through aggressive raising.

But, again, this is all subjective.

Is it morally wrong to gamble? I dont know, its your opinion.

Is it morally wrong to eat meat? Same answer.

With all morality there are arguments on both sides. Maybe she cares more about the death of animals that couldnt help themselves than she does about humans that choose* to gamble. Maybe she is happy about how Ed's taught many of us to play beter poker.

Basically, I see reason to conclude that someone is hyopcritical if they are agaisnt animal death but pro-gambling. You just happen to have a different moral outlook than her.

FWIW, of those 3 claims yours was far and away the one I disagreed with the least. The main problem was that you were making moral claims about gambling on 2p2.

* just to clarify on the word choose: no one really chooses anything, and free will is an illusion, but thats another thread.

EDIT: also, just fwiw, I felt you over exagerated the claim of how bad poker is, much like Ive been bitching at elaine for doing most of the thread. Gotta remain consistent
