[ QUOTE ]
Schwartzy, the rule is like that because it is usually very difficult just to get into the penalty area and then even harder to score a goal. So that's why they award a pk. It's hard enough to bring the ball into the penalty area so if you get fouled in there it's a pk, not a bad rule if you ask me. maybe slightly comparable to the semi-circle in basketball where the defender cannot draw a charge. [/ QUOTE ] TY for a nice response... [ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] It's hard to stay interested in a sport when a foul that has little to no chance of creating a goal gives the other team a close to automatic goal. [/ QUOTE ] Atleast it's more fair than spotting the ball at the one yard line after an endzone pass interference. [/ QUOTE ] The NFL has more issues with rules than anything I've seen in the World Cup so don't get me started on that...and my interest in the NFL is slowly waning the more I watch... |
