Default Re: The Vegetarian Torture

[ QUOTE ]
Good one.
I'll never understand why meat eaters hate vegetarians. just eat your steak and shut up already.

Paluka,

I feel most people (though I cant speak for anyone but me) dont hate vegetarians at all. On top of that, I feel the post you recently made (about doing the little things) was quite right. I agree we should do the little things do try to make the world a better place.

For me personally, I dont think eating meat is morally wrong. I have no problems with an animal dying if it is in the interest of feeding another animal, regardless of whether or not that animal could survive solely on non-animal food products. This is my moral opinion, and it cannot be objectively wrong. Nor, can I tell you that your opinion (im assuming, though I dont want to put words in your mouth) that eating animals is morally wrong is objectively wrong.

However, people hate vegetarians who go around trying to impose THEIR moral values on others. Elaine has said in this thread she is pro-choice. Some people find that morally wrong, REGARDLESS of whether or not she actually partakes in the abortion. Im sure she wouldnt want those people trying to impose their morals on her, calling her a murderer when she sees nothing morally wrong with being pro-choice, and I think she should show the meat eaters of the world the same respect.

We have absolutely no problem with YOUR brand of vegetarianism (perhaps other than a few shots from diablo), its when Elaine trys to impose her subjective morals on us that we have problems.
