Gemmell (I assume you meant Gemmell) is awesome, I love his stuff. Of course, I like AC/DC too even though every song sounds a lot like the last one, so I can ignore the fact that Gemmell's "formula" for a book is exactly the same every time...

I wanted to start on McCaffrey but she has so many books I was unsure where to start, and unfortunately I have read in a number of places that after a while she seems to be "mailing it in" and riding on her laurels... Opinions?
