Hand 1: Immediately after the hand I new I should have bet the turn. If this were a rainbow board (which Donkey pointed out) then figuring a WA/WB scenario is probably more spot on. With the 2 flush out there though and my opponent being semi LAGsicle his range is much wider then that of a "typical" live monkey and thus I need to continue the pressure on him I think.

I did check behind for two reasons though. I didn't want to get C/R'd here because there is no way I can call one with these stack sizes and the size of the pot (If I bet $300, he raises to $800....and I still have a river bet to contend with). And if he was on a 3 outer, I didn't mind giving him a bit of rope to hang himself with (KJ,K8s...). The problem here I am learning is that with a larger than average range, there are more scare/danger cards out thewre then what I originally thought.

As is poker, the Th hit the river (probably the single worst card for me as it fills straights, flushes, reasonable two pairs...) and he bets out $150 into a $435 pot. I call time and think through the hand and our history together and fold my KQ face up. He flashes Q9h and pats the table. Betting the turn here would have one the pot I think.

Hand 2: I 100% agree that the flop call was terrible. At the time I was thinking that I could use my position to make a move at the pot on a later street but when dealing with a bet and raise with people still to act, I need to get the [censored] out.

On the river, the bet seemed to large for a nut bet. I figured the Ad would want to extract some value from the hand as it would be hard enough as is to get action unless someone had the Kd and was a monkey. I was that monkey and after thinking about it for a good minute, I decided a smaller bet was in order for the nut bet here. I called, he flipped up AKo (no flush) and I won. On a side note, I didn't like the way AK played that hand either though. If he raises preflop, he wins. If he bets the turn, he wins. But I think the AK was played quite passively and thus I was able to suck out.

Thanks for the responses.
