Follow up Q: isnt the national championship game decided beforehand? Like, this year we knew it was the rose bowl. And, whichever teams are 1 and 2 in the BCS play in that game, right?

So, why was USC called 'national champions' if they didnt didnt win the nat. champ. game?

Do media polls just count for more?
