Default I have a High Variance Disease (I think)

So I sat down about 2 hrs ago, and dropped 2 buyins playing 2-4 person table very quickly. I was playing more aggressively than normal, but HU it's hard to tell if you are just getting unlucky or playing poorly.

But then the last 1.5hr, I've been all over the place. Still way more variance than normal and I'm down 3 more buyins. Overall, I think that I've gotten my money in on the right side of things, but less than usual. I'm playing bigger pots but with less of an edge than my usual game where I get the money in with more of an edge but for smaller pots.

This isn't a sob story, I just want to know:

How to I evaluate my play, is it possible to do it rationally? I have pokertracker, but I'm not sure exactly what to look for.

Do I just go with the flow because this is kind of fun? Is this not a sickness, but really the cure?

Basically I want to know if I'm still playing good poker, or did I turn into a maniac and I'm going to lose all my money?

BTW, I'm trying to trace the origin of this new affliction and I think I'm trying to emulate RoundTower's playing style.

p.s. Since I started this post, I'm back up 2 buyins, so only down 3 right now. That's just plain crazy variance for me.
