He didn't say he was a random stranger, only that he was a guy he met... perhaps they have become friendly in the card room over a period of time? Maybe Bob has a man crush?

Someone who I only see in a card room falls into the "random stranger" category for me. If I liked him enough to make him something else we'd hang out outside of cardrooms.
