Did he choose roundball over football? I know he went undrafted in the NFL, but I can't remember if that was because he said he'd rather play in the NBA.

I think he accepted a contract from the knicks after being drafted by them, prior to the NFL draft.

I personally think he would have been a pretty good NFL QB, as he was far more McNair than he was Ware or Vick.

He wasn't on the level of any of those 3 QBs that you mentioned coming into the league. He was more of a Gino Terreta(sp?) type, who got drafted in the 7th round IIRC and was quickly out of the league.
