winchips,

Hmm. I know NOT MUCH about computers and software, etc. It just sounded to me like I was having the same problem as you originally. I too suspected the same thing about needing to possibly convert the files to .TXT from .HFF, but it turned out to NOT be necessary.

The only thing I can think of to try at this point (i.e. assuming, for the moment that is, that I WAS having the same problem as you) would be to run the entire operation for a few minutes to get more .HHF files into that folder. I say this because when Poker Tracker auto-imports, even though it "reads" say 20 files at once, for example, it ends up importing say only 15 hands or so. So maybe you didn't have enough files to "read" for any hand histories to be imported.

How do I set up pokertracker to import these files automatically? I read something about naming a file empire.exe, but didn't quite understand.

[/ QUOTE ]

1. Make a folder for mining somewhere.
2. Copy an execuatble into this folder and rename it EmpirePoker.exe (or another skin you don't use).
3. Copy FreePHG.exe into this folder also.
4. Open up some tables (see below).
5. Start running FreePHG.exe from your mining folder and you should start to see .hhf files appearing for the tables you are watching.
6. When you want to import these hands, point PT at this folder by pointing it at the EmpirePoker.exe (it will then think this folder is the empire folder and [auto-]import from their).

(Thanks the Adde for working out this method! )

[ QUOTE ]
What is the name of the program you use to make sure you've always got an active table open? I don't think I can still run partymine with this.

[/ QUOTE ]

The program (really its a AHK script, but its cool - better than PartyMine IMO) you want is called iWitness (its main discussion thread is (here).

[ QUOTE ]
Also I read that someone had 25 tables open. How can that be if you can only open 12?

[/ QUOTE ]
I think you need to use multiple Windows XP user areas for this, and just mine 4 extra tables in each user area (I wouldn't risk multiple Party accounts after the ZJ thing). To be able to do this you will need a pretty fast PC, and I am not even 100% sure yet how this will work as FPHG is pretty CPU intensive, but a few are likely trying it and we should get some feedback fairly soon.

BTW: How do you open 12 tables, I can only do 10?

I do not understand how to follow steps #2 & 3 above (copy an execuatble, etc...).

Can't I just drag the FPHG file into my Empire Poker Hand History folder? I have tried this and my FPHG downloading is working just fine, however, Poker Tracker will not recognize the files that it is placing in my:

C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\HandHistories

Are people successful using the "generic" import (lightning bolt) or Auto-Import Party Poker Logo?

If you could take a moment, please list VERY SPECIFIC directions on how to:

2. Copy an execuatble into this folder and rename it EmpirePoker.exe
3. Copy FreePHG.exe into this folder also.

TY

Neither of these options should make any difference to your problem, but I will explain them anyway:

The option -s just makes v0.02 of FPHG go into silent mode (ie: is doesn't display anything while it's running if you use this option).

The option -d is just used to give a larger delay between consecutive memory scans. The only reason of the using the option -d is if you want to allocate more or less processor time to FPHG. Unless your system is under extreme load, then the -d option isn't necessary.

Yes, this is probably the easiest method (assuming you don't use Empire anymore).. Just copy FreePHG into C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\ and then run it from within their. You should also copy the iWitness script into this folder if you want to use iWitness to open the tables (iWitness is like the old partymine).

[ QUOTE ]
C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\HandHistories

[/ QUOTE ]

I think this is where your problem is! Observed HandHistories (.hhf files) should be stored in 'C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\' and only you own hand histories should be stored in 'C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\HandHistories' (ie: just copy and run it from within the same folder as Empire.exe).

[ QUOTE ]

[/ QUOTE ]

I think either should work, so long as you setup PT to point to 'C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\' and tell it to import observed hand histories.

If you still can't get it to work by running from within 'C:\Program Files\EmpirePoker\', then I can send you a zip with everything and see if that helps, but I think the problem you were having was because you were running FreePHG.exe from within the folder designed to store your own played hands. Do you know anybody else who uses PT and could try importing them into a test DB - just to see if its something related to your PT. You are the only person I am aware of who has come across this problem, and I no longer use PT, so its very hard for me to test.

Also, what kind of hand hand histories are they? Are they for a game type that is rarely played?

Are either of your machines dual processor machines? (same question to handsome who posted earlier).

It just occurred to me that possibly my method won't work with dual processor machines (could try setting affinity for party to use just processor 0 if this is the case).

Also if anybody here is using hyper-threading CPUs (or dual processor machines) could they post on their experiences with FPHG and these systems.

Hey Jukofyork,

I figured it out!!!!!!!!! TY for your PM response too!

I was just having difficulty with the Auto-Import process. I simply figured out this process:

In PT, go to the Auto-Import Party window. Click on the Program File Locations button. In the Empire row, click the Browse button and point it to this dummy EmpirePoker.exe file you created. Uncheck the Disable box next to Empire also and click OK. Then go to the Observed Hands tab and uncheck the box "Do not import observed hands at this time".

Thanks Again!!
