Sorry for the bump (tho it was on page 1) - but i this thread needs to be stickied as evidence of why you usually need more than 1 buy in for any level you are playing.

Sorry for the bump (tho it was on page 1) - but i this thread needs to be stickied as evidence of why you usually need more than 1 buy in for any level you are playing. [/ QUOTE ] Ehhhh what I deposited £100, doubled up to £200. Sat at $2/$4, trebled up to £600. Sat at short-handed $10/$20 then $5/$10 chasing players on my buddy-list, but didn't get any hands. At this point I was playing patiently and carefully - fold fold fold. Sat again at $2/$4 and won another buyin, taking me briefly to £730 in my account. Then I sat at $3/$6, lost a repulsive $1200 hand where my opponent made an unbelievable call with top pair no draw on the turn, when I had 24 outs, none of which came. That put me on tilt, and I made a rash and impulsive bluff which didnt' work and blew another $600. If there's a moral here, it's about avoiding tilt, taking breaks, and the importance of regular cash-outs. I lost because I tilted and raised and bluffed too much. But I also lost because I couldn't get the money out of the site, which for me always spells doom. |

No, you lost because you had one buy in and used that buy in to bluff one of the donkeys at the table.
What i loved is your justication for the play. Even if it is correct, it clearly falls into the area where you shouldnt make a +EV play because if you lose you are out of the game. In fact, every single play you make falls into that catagory. |

Jim if you know you are tilted but feel like you HAVE to play poker then drop down to baby stakes. Trying to double up or bust is not a succesful mentality.

[/ QUOTE ] I had $1450 when I joined the 3/6 table, so, no. The first $600 I lost, I believe I had 24 outs when the money went in, all of which I missed. That put me on tilt. This hand was directly responsible for me losing the next. |

How about you focus on work instead of posting in a pointless thread on 2+2 you worthless piece of [censored]. [/ QUOTE ] Well duh because I have a pointless brainless job I don't need to focus on? (Which pays $36/hour, but never mind) [/ QUOTE ] wowowowowo 36/hr slow down gordon gecko [/ QUOTE ] Like I said, it's not big bucks. But it's not hobo bucks either [/ QUOTE ] Wait, aren't you the guy who posted a thread in OOT asking if you should keep some money you found in a former co-worker's desk?
