I dont wipe cans before I drink from them, but it makes perfect sense to do so. Why would I put my mouth on something that isnt sanitized or even clean. (still not going to do it tho)
also, putting cans in upside down is stupid. Its wasting time, plus it shakes the soda up before you open it.

Instead of this whole thread, you should have posted your amazing soda can idea in one of those "life tips" threads. Here's how it could have gone:
Put your soda in your fridge upside down. That way, if something else leaks in your fridge, it will just drop onto the bottom of your can! You're welcome.

If I moved into a new place and saw my roommate did that, I'd be have a pretty bad feeling about the living situation.
I know it's a perfectly rational thing to do really, but it's just not even sometimes done with most people so it's socially awkward as hell. I share the OCD feeling with the fridge though, I make sure all the labels on crap are lined up and angled for maximum visibility, I've been caught several times just rearranging crap in there so it looks good to me.

WOW do I even need to add some the obvious?
1 ) put the soda on the top shelf 2) put something under your meat 2-b) put thawing meat on the bottom self 3)use a bottle your logic is flawed because 1)you have to flip the can over increasing likely hood to assplode 2)your shelf is dirty 2-b) if you clean your cans anyway it doesn't matter if turds were dropping on them
