So I played in $35 tourney at the Excalibur with two friends this afternoon. After the first hand was delt I realized I didn't know what the blind structure was, so I asked, and got about 8 different answers to questions I didn't even ask, prompting a lecture from the dealer that was so long and detailed (because for some reason, I was the idiot) that someone with sunglass actually said something like "why is class still in session". I didn't feel like slapping him across the face with 20k, so I just said nothing. Then a few hands later I get AA and raise, a guy who was short stacked throws his only chip left besides his blinds in the middle so I insta put my stack in (which I would have done with like any hand cause I would have been getting odds), uh, then everyone laughs in my face because 1 chip is just a call. And because they don't understand pot odds the all start saying, btw, in the middle of the hand that I have aces. So the other guy check folds the flop and I don't have to show them down. Of course I busted w/ A9o whe I only had 1.25bb's, and my friend who has never played poker in a casino or online cashed in 5th for $117, ship it

Also 10/20nl, I've got 4k and am covered, 1 bad player limps UTG+1, I raise to 120 with K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], likely a good player calls in the SB, everyone else folds.

Flop A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, UTG+1 checks, I bet 300, they both call.

Turn Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] SB checks, UTG+1 bets 700, I call, SB folds

River blank UTG+1 checks, I bet 1600, he thinks for a while and calls with 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

Oh yeah and I limped OTB w/ QQ after 5 limpers, and thought it was gold because the SB and BB were raising limpers from their blinds 60-70% of the time, they of course limp, flop Axx and I get to only lose $20

yeah i guess, the J[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] pretty far ahead made it close, and then him checking the river, yeah, just a big misread on the turn/river I guess. Can't really put him on a flush once he checks, but yeah wish I would have known he was this weird before the hand. Oh and how to play full ring live uncapped, yeah, need to know that too

Ive heard of 500/1000 nl games with effective stacks of like 150-200k running in Rancho Santa Fe, but I have no idea how you would get invited to play.
