When he finally started fielding questions, he tried to defend himself as best he could.
Question on Holocaust Ahmadinejad openly admitted that the Holocaust occurred; however, he simply questioned what were the reasons they were put treated that way? His big disagreement with the Holocaust was because academics have stopped researching the "root cause." He went on to argue that in physics, chemistry, and other scientific fields keep progressing to find absolute knowledge. Then he said why stop/limit researchers on this topic? Question on Visiting Ground Zero He claimed that he wanted to pay respects to injured families and give his sympathies. I'm not sure if Ahmadinejad was sincere or rather he's just trying to come off as a nice guy. Questioned about gays/woman rights He first tried to get out of the question by saying the US has capital punishment, and that Iran utilizes capital punishment to certain offenders, primarily durg offenders. Then, the chairman said that the US does not kill women/homosexuals to which Ahmadinejad responded that homosexuals do not exist in Iran(lol), and that women have prominent roles in their government. He gave two references to women holding vice president positions. Why does he support terrorism against US? Ahmadinejad's response made it seem like US was a terrorist toward Iran and that it was in Iran's best interest to fight against the International powers. He said he would be willing to do unilateral talks with the US, which I believe would be a good idea. Nuclear Weapons When asked about the weapons, he said that Iran was only using 5% grade, which is accepted under current international laws. He accused "three international powers" primarily US and Britian of wanting to have a monopoly on nuclear power. He also said that they cooperate with the international searches required to keep enriching uranium. Conclusion I'm not sure if he was sincere or was trying to gain political capital by coming to the US and coming off as a "nice" guy. He did present himself well and came off as an intelligent man, but he continues to kill innocent women/children/homosexuals. My biggest question is do we believe him when he says that Iran is legally enriching Uranium solely for purposes to produce power? Also, do we believe that he has enough political influence in Iran to actually carry through with talks with the US to see a difference? |

Iran and Syria are scared.....hence Ahmadinejad's gambit to honor the dead of 911. Previous, cynics like myself, thought Ahmadinejad's motive was to honor the hijackers by laying a wreath on their final resting place.
According to this story, http://www.ivanyi-consultants.com/articles/silence.html there is shock in the middle east from Israel's successful raid on Syria's infant nuclear program. The Syrians have been purchasing VAST AMMOUNTS of Russians latest-cutting-edge anti-aircraft system. A system that was suppose to bring them on par technologically with not only Israel...but the USA as well. But it turns out the Israel's EASILY defeated this system and bomb the stuffings out of Syria's nuclear stockpile. In fact the Israel's were so successful, the world's supposedly best anti aircraft system did not light up. It was completely blind. The murder-masters in Damascas and Tehran are completely naked and defenseless from the air...... Ahhhhh......may the bombs on Iran fall soon. Most advanced anti-aircraft system in the world? Hah! http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3436827,00.html |

May I ask what are your qualificatons to pass judgement on who is educated and who is not? You have certainly shown no wit, intelligence, or education in this post. Forgive me if I'm less than impressed by your 'wit'.... But perhaps you have more in your arsenal than just ad hominem attacks. Perhaps your post was just a warmup. Yes? And an education on a learned and witty post with soon follow. I look forward to this upcoming education in your next post..... |

I apologise and take back the person attack. Your viewpoints are that of a hawkish Fox News inspired neanderthal, and the world would be more pleasant with fewer "nuke 'em all" thoughts. Your education should really be put to constructive uses rather than the destuction of humanity (like George DubyaMD Bush's, although I use 'education' in its broadest sense with that man). Leave that to the "terrorists". |
