Oh noes! Someone said something mean and intemperate in an internet forum! And if there is a poster who has earned more leeway then ClarkM, I can't think of them.
Mason, you really are a cranky bugger sometimes. Yeah, your house, your rules. But your rules suck when you turn your personal likes and dislikes into site wide policy. See also your instruction to not have people submit questions to John Pappas in one of the PPA threads in Legislation. A more responsible and saner response would simply be to have replied to Clark's post saying that Hal is a friend of yours and that Clark is being a insensitive D-bag. Instead, you choose to "punish" Clark, and the forum as a whole, in a manner that can only be described as petulant.

Mason acts like nobody here can have any sympathy for a blind person. Clark appears to not like the guy personally regardless of his eyesight situation and I really think he's perfectly allowed to. Clark doesn't have to like the guy just because he's blind OR just because he's a friend of Mason's. Mason is practically acting like all blind-people are really awesome and likeable. I'm sure there are some jerks even among the blind. Mason is certainly entitled to his opinion on this. But to make it a ban-worthy offense is ridiculous. Perhaps even stranger than the Nate situation which I thought was a pretty misguided decision. Note - I don't know Hal at all and barely saw him on TV so I have no idea if I specifically like him or not.

I think the ban is pretty harsh, but what's most disturbing about it to me is Mason's assertion that Hal is "ten times the person" Clark will ever be. Pretty hypocritical, if you ask me, to insult someone while banning them for insulting someone else.
