I don't think anyone would act like Khan or Brenes in a cash game, at least not for long. And if they somehow did, you could just get up and leave, unless you were a compulsive gambler and there were no other tables.
In a tournament, you can't get up and leave without losing your entry fee, so the other players should be protected from creeps like them, and Molina last year, by their being removed temporarily, then permanently if they persist. Unfortunately the WSOP seems to be driven by ESPN, which apparently thinks its audience consists mainly of people who watch the event as if it were "Survivor" or "The Jerry Springer Show." And maybe it does. |

[ QUOTE ] I thought it was a new low for Humberto when the guy he ko'd on a coin flip stayed to shake his hand (which god knows I wouldn't have done), and Humberto shook his hand for one second without even looking at him, standing on a chair spouting gibberish. Hats off to Ed de Haas as well for the way he dealt with Khan. [/ QUOTE ]I can't watch Humberto, he is such a desperate attention whore, I fast forward thru all things Humberto. [/ QUOTE ] It does not seem sensible to me that a player is allowed to place his hands(shark) in the middle of the table during the play of a hand. Why is this allowed? If I were in a hand against Huuuumbertoooo and he was holding his shark up against the flop like he does, I would be very annoyed. |

i just watched it and it was instant facepalm everytime kahn or humberto was on the screen. its really uncomfortable and embarrassing to watch. kahn's parents or humberto's kids must just cringe with shame when they see him act like that. and how are the other players always so accommodating? you would think way more people would tell him to stfu or they would get in his face when they beat him in a hand. on the occasion that i am faced with some dick like that at the table in cash i always at least slowroll the [censored] out of him.

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] I wish they would have showed that girl's bustout hand. btw Maria Ho...so so hot! [/ QUOTE ] Dario Minieri Wins A Monster Pot and Eliminates Deb Blair After Minieri raised before the flop Blair called and they saw a flop of 7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]. Blair bet 110,000 and Minieri called, and the 3 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] hit on the turn. Blair bet 200,000, Minieri moved all-in, and Blair called for her last 949,000. She turned over pocket Tens, but Minieri turned over J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] for the straight. And after the 2 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] fell on the river Blair was eliminated and Minieri's stack soared up to 2.625 million. [/ QUOTE ] For those criticizing Minieri's play as too over-aggro, a hand like this completely justifies it when you've got donks calling off so many chips here with TT. [/ QUOTE ] Right, and Deb rasied preflop with her pocket 10s, and how do you justify Harry Potter calling the raise with those 2 horrible cards (not even suited as yet another BAD reason for calling) preflop, hmmm? |

I think the time for Deb to push was after the flop, not after the turn. After the turn she's looking at calling for all her chips when Minieri needs only a 6 to send her home. If she pushes on the flop he's got 8 outs for the straight, and HE has the tough decision.
Bottom line here is that CALLING an all-in with nothing but top pair is usually a very, very bad idea. |

[ QUOTE ] His style only works when eventually you get a hand better than bottom pair and you get paid off huge. :\ I think he's playing well and I'm sure they're only showing hands where he gets called. [/ QUOTE ]I don't really like Dario (or playing against him), but I do like to watch him play. Who didn't see that woman was going to CS off her stack after calling down with K9? I like how espn "told the story" of his play and made it look like the way to beat him is check calling every street. [/ QUOTE ] Tell me something, is it because she is a woman that you think she's a calling station? Of course you couldn't give her credit for perhaps having Harry Potter's number after (her) sitting there for how long watching him play (and knowing it was HP who was donking off his chips tyring to bluff her and she knew it!)? |

[/ QUOTE ] Read the post you yourself quoted, he raised, she just called. And her instacall in the first hand was one thing, it was probably played fine, although the fact she just insta-ed without even thinking tends to show she's just one of those "you are a bluffer, I call!" stations. The second hand is horrendous and hilarious, she started the hand with like 1.3 million at 5k-10k blinds and racked off with TT on a 7543 board. Run TT in pokerstove against a random hand, she's still only 60% ahead even if he hasn't even looked at his hand. Considering his actual actions (raising pre, calling the flop) her play is beyond hilarious, stacking off for 120 BBs there. So it's true, it's not fair to just say she's a donk calling station cause she's a woman. But she is in fact a donk calling station, because she plays like a donkey and is a calling station. |

[/ QUOTE ] Deb is a really good player IMO, after all she was/is the Arizona Women's State champion, and I've played in those Ladies events, and they are a LOT harder to play in than in mixed events. I still don't see anyone dissin Harry Potter's play, for calling her preflop raise, with Jack/6 o/s. I'm pretty sure Deb had HP's number, and was simply trying to milk chips off of HP like she did with her K/9 when HP kept bluffin with bubkiss. For all we know, Deb might of picked up some sort of tell off of HP, that we didn't see. FWIW, HP flopped the Up and down straight draw, so I don't think Deb's pushing after the flop would of made any difference based on what I saw of HP's play. Again I ask, why is no on dissin HP here, for calling a preflop raise with his J/6 o/s? |
