After my HORSE (near) triumph, decided to try some Stud. Seems like a really fun game. And position isn't really an issue in stud!!! Yay! I never knew this. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Call from anywhere! Awesome.

Turned $10 BI into $35 in about an hour. Definitely ran hot. Or maybe lots of great hands come your way in Stud...I'm really not sure. And boy, the players seemed bad.

[/ QUOTE ]I play stud when on a bad run in HE. At micro limits the players almost across board are spewtards. It's very, very easy to read hands. Play big pairs and suited hands. Value bet. Really just get a good hand and bet. They will never fold anything until 5th street, if they hit any pair or three to flush or straight by then they are seeing 6th, any draw is going to river and any pair is paying off. Anything .25/.50 and lower players are inconcievably bad. You have to run terrible to have a losing session. I should really focus on playing that only but can only realistically keep track of one, two tables since knowing dead cards is vital.

I played a decent bit of stud before Frist killed all the americans on my sites ... hehe

But don't worry, variance will catch up with you, and stud has a nice little twist compared to hold'em - You can actually lose with an Ace-high flush to a better flush

That happened to me once and I couldn't understand what happened. I had to gooogle Stud rules to figure out why I lost with my Ace high flush versus his. Too bad its hard to find a Stud game on Prima. Fun way to break the duldrums of Holdem.

On a side note today was a fun day. The first 6 times I had Kings everyone folded preflop to my raise. Then of course when I get all in on the flop later with it, I lose to an 8 outer(flush on river, with me holding K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]) Loser with it over 15 times , and of course I get AA 3 times, at least AA won every time.

Breaking News:

The Gelford Era seems to be nearing an end, I am starting a job on monday, no more sitting up til early morning playing poker and posting on 2+2

It is now 20 months since I decided to go pro with less skill than the average uNL'er.

And finally I was getting the feeling of actually being good at this game

Grats on the new job. I hope it works out for you.

In regards to playing time, wataf? I work 50-70 hours a week and still played ~30k hands last month.

Thx Caine (and the rest of you)

Yeah, I'm sure I'll log at least 30K each month, have no intention of quitting poker ... tho sitting here with the clock nearing 4 am posting on 2+2 will soon be a thing of the past. (also somewhere in the end of march Gelford Jr. will enter the stage and who knows what will be feasable then ??? )

Kids/Family >>>> All...of this there can be no doubt. There will be nothing more important than spending time with your child.

However, to put it all in context, I have 6 kids and still logged 30k hands last month, so don't think you can abandon us.
