Yeah, if you need fat(even while dieting), def. add the olive oil to the baked sweet potatoes. It improves the texture and flavor substantially.

i think you are missing the point. even if you are "dieting" (whatever that means to you) you still need fat in your daily food consumption.

I'm not missing the point(I am aware of need for fat while dieting). I was simply unclear in my original post: I get a lot of fat from other sources(including olive oil in other dishes), so I usually skip the olive oil in the sweet potatoes in the interest of keeping overall calories low.
