So hes the 23rd pitcher to win 300, the 5th left-hander, and the 2nd evil pitcher. Congrats on all 3 milestones.

and the 2nd evil pitcher. [/ QUOTE ] I assume by evil pitcher you mean he got the benefit of a very generous brave strike zone all those years? |

I'm going to my first game of 2007 tonight, and just wondering what the current parking situation is, in light of the construction.
I plan to get there super-early, to ensure I get some kind of spot. Any advice about best lot to choose, assuming I do get there an hour before gametime? (Is that also plenty of time?) |

[/ QUOTE ] Hour before you should be fine; last time I parked in one of the pay lots under Northern Boulevard and it was pretty easy in and out. It was the first time I had driven to Shea since Opening Day last year (which was a nightmare). But this time around, I was pleasantly surprised. I think they've scared away so many people from driving, that driving isn't a terrible option. Traffic wasn't bad, getting into a lot was super quick, and getting out was fairly quick also (although we were headed back to Manhattan...traffic was a little worse trying to get out and get East). It was the first game back after the A/S break, Thursday evening, good crowd of 40K+, so I thought it was a good barometer. |

usually when i have gotten there an hour before we had to park on the outside lots. these are the places on the grass that probably used to be free to park last year if you got there early enough, but now shea sets up a little pay to park here stand and charges money.

I was at the Mets - Cubs games last Fri and Sat. Didn't see it mentioned here, but on Friday after Lee homered for the Cubs, some Mets fan in the bleachers got a hold of the HR ball and threw it back on the field, lol. Needless to say, the locals in said bleachers were in an absolute uproar over this.
Talked to several Cubs fans over the weekend, and none of them had ever heard of that happening before. Plus, it was crazy how many Mets fans were in Wrigley. The 'Lets go Mets!' chants were louder than any of the Cubs chants. |
