INSG--
I think that people who would be getting this brand of tricky with a hand that beats KK are many of the same people who would make a very small bet on the river with it. This is gross, but I've seen this play with all sorts of hands that KK beats--every once in a while even no-pair hands--and especially because the river improved a chunk of hands that still lose to you, I think you have to call. If I had to put a number on it, I'd say you're ahead 31% of the time. --Nate |

[ QUOTE ]
So based on your logic, I should call here with 44 too right? I'm not saying that it's a fold. I just want a response thats a little more complex than how much I have invested in the pot, because I am familiar with the odds I was getting to call here. [/ QUOTE ] No, b/c this hand was played in a very strange fashion. Without a strong read, it is tough to understand why someone with three 8s or better would go for a C/R here. So, there is a very real chance that this was just a horribly played hand by Rcole. Given that chance, there is no reason to think that he isn't bluffing a made hand. I think it is a mistake to fold a very good hand, when we have committed 70% of our stack, and we can't figure out why our opponent just made a strange bet. |

i wonder if there's any chance that rcole has a hand like ace queen here and is c/ring the river for value here.
i mean, when you put his range out there, you pretty much have to call. |

This is a clear call IMO. Your hand is under repped you could even argue.

Lol you have to call. He could be doing this with a Q and being stupid, the fact is you put in soooooooooooo much chips with a hand that beats a decent range. Just stick it in.

Call and be sad when you see the 8. Or QQ. I like this river raise, especially since everyone seems to live in valuetown now.

I think you have to call this. This looks like an opportunity CR bluff to me. Surely, if they actually had a hand that beat you, they would have to bet the river for value, after you checked behind on the turn. They can't count on you betting after they check the river, so they would be losing too much value if you checked behind again.
