ManU fans, question for you. As an outsider, your team doesn't look good going into the season. You have numerous injuries and Fergie appears to be letting squad players from last years team leave. Also, I still don't think tevez is coming.

he is letting players leave who we have gotten upgrades for. richardson is leaving because he never played and we signed 3 new midfielders, i dont know why heinze is leaving as i actually think hes pretty rad. but why should we be worried again? there are a couple of minor injuries, i would be surprised if we dont do incredibly well again this year.
i mean we have gotten 4 players and lost one. the one we lost never played. Are there players beyond heinze who are leaving? who is injured? all of this is pretty confusing. |

Tevez replaces Saha, Anderson and Nani cover for Park and Giggs till they come back. Richardson is the worst player in the history of football. The biggest issue I see is with the back four, especially if Heinze does leave, but Silvestre-Ferdinand-Vidic-Evra is relatively weak but still better than half the EPL. |

I still don't think tevez is happening.
Anyways, I would be somewhat concerned. I wouldn't feel too comfortable about new signings starting right away as a replacement to regular starters. There will be some adjustment needed for all them. I suppose what I am suggesting is that they could have a rough start to the season with so many new players potentially starting. |

[/ QUOTE ] Possibly, but there's not much they could have done about that. With starters injured, and current bench players ineffective or worse, the best they could hope for is to sign good new player which they have done. |

There will be some adjustment needed for all them. I suppose what I am suggesting is that they could have a rough start to the season with so many new players potentially starting. [/ QUOTE ] United haven't lost anything at any positions where we either a) don't already have some excellent replacements or b) haven't already bought to resolidify the position. With Heinze, we already have Evra for that position and LB is O'Shea's natural position and has been pretty much the only position where he hasn't looked like a fool every now and then. Not only that, but Johnny Evans and Gerrard Pique are also waiting in the wings for defensive positions and both look like they are the real deal. With Kieran Richardson, we flat out robbed Sunderland. We didn't need richardson and somehow got 5.5m for him. We bought Nani, Anderson, and Hargreaves and also have Chris Eagles at the midfield for RIchardson's spot, and I'd much rather have Eagles play then Richardson as far as losing Saha, yes it hurts, but don't forget, United play a flexible formation that goes from 4-5-1 when defending and turns into a 4-3-3 or 4-2-4 when in attack. We still have Rossi and now have a fully healthy alan smith. If we somehow don't land Tevez, we will still land another striker before aug 30. United has tons of talent and we improved on a squad that one the prem this year fairly safely for the full effect, check this article out and look at the bottom http://soccernet.espn.go.com/columns/sto...os1&cc=5901 our 4th team could easily be a top ten championship side. Hell, Frazier Campbell could and probably should be a prem striker as he is insanely fast and has a nose for the goal, and he is listed for the 4th team |

a) don't already have some excellent replacement [/ QUOTE ]Aren't you exaggerating some? Your back 4 backups are serious downgrade sans Heinze, who looks to be out. Your midfield back ups are 50% unproven prem players. Nani and Anderson could end up being great prem players. They could also end up being a bust. You can't assume that they will fit right in and play well. The only person on your second team that is of any real value is Carrick, but even he is an overrated POS. We could talk about the rest, but why bother. These guys only stick around because they get paid more to be at ManU then they do to suck somewhere else. I still contest ManU was VERY lucky last year in regards to health. I would be very hesitant to assume that Neville, Giggs, Scholes, and Hargeaves will play more than 80% of all the league games. Three of these guys are [censored] old and one has a vagina softer than a fat chick. |
