I'm not a programmer so I don't know how the alert works. I can say I use a separate nVidia PCI card enabled as my primary display and my built-in motherboard display was disabled. I pulled my video card out and enabled the motherboard built-in video as the primary display and the alerts do show up on the bottom right as intended.

Perhaps adding another video card and making that your primary display may help reproduce the problem.

I use the ATI and not Nvidia video card so that may be where the issue is. I will try to find a system with the Nvidia card in it. If anyone else has an Nvidia card and is having an issue, please let me know.
