ok, so here's the scenario.

You go out to a bar, have... say.... 5 drinks in an hour and a half and come back to your house with 6 friends who dare you to funnel a handle of vodka. You agree to do it; judgment is not part of this hypothetical scenario, nor is the efficacy with which you or any human can funnel a handle. The question is simply this...

Unassisted by medical attention and without puking how long until you pass away?

It depends a lot on tolerance (and consequently setting, as tolerance is setting-dependent), but probably unless you are extremely heavy and a severe alcoholic this will kill you within 1-2 hours

If you drank a half gallon and somehow managed to suppress your puking reflex, I'd say 2-3 hours before you're gone. If you're a real hardcore alcoholic or if you weigh 400+ lbs, you might be all right anyway, but your average 2+2er would die within 3 hours if they couldn't puke.
