attention mpls people
I know playing cards at "high limits" is cool. I know its awesome to discuss hands at the table. I know its really sweet to talk about 2p2 at the table. I know its great to discuss poker strategy at the table. Its especially cool to ask people you don't know what they had, and if they would have raised if they bet the turn and blah blah blah. Its absolutely thrilling. Please knock that s--- out. god. -chris o, local nit. |

couple days ago
couple limpers, local nit raises CO I 3bet QQ button everyone calls. Flop QJ7 2 hearts, MP bets out, CO raises I 3 bet all call. Turn 6o check check bet call fold. River Th, MP checks, I think "huh" and bet, he calls and immediately tables 4h3h. Not sure I've ever had the nuts on the turn with a set and lose at the river with my opponent check calling. |

Little 35 year old asian guy shows up at the 30 game with 3 stacks of black from the back room. His 1st hand he calls a raise in the big blind with J7o, bets out flop turn river which has nothing to do with his hand and is called by king high and loses.
He raises in EP and is called by dmark in a blind. Flop is AQx and dmark check calls. Turn x check bet call. River x check bet call. He doesn't protect his hand well as he's in the 5 seat and I'm in the 4. I would say something to him but he's shaking uncontrollably the entire time, invading my space, and constantly fist bumping the other asian guy in the 3 seat next to me. He looks at his cards and its T6s, no pair. He says "queen". Dmark holds his cards patiently and the guy gives up after a few seconds and mucks. Yeah, he wasn't even smart enough to angle shoot by saying "ace". Later I raise AA and he calls. We go 5 bets on a KKJ flop and he folds to the 5th bet. He explodes ~4 racks in 2 hours and disappears into the night. Just another day at the racetrack. |

20 game I just got back from:
4 limps including Danny UTG, then a raise and 3bet from LP, I call in the BB with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] planning to hit a big flop and win a huge pot, all the limpers call so 7 ways for 3 bets. Flop Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] Check to one of the limpers who randomly donks which means one thing and one thing only. Once a bunch of people behind him call and I c/r I have the best hand 100% of the time and am on my way to winning a huge pot. It works, 2 calls, I c/r, Danny thinks a while and calls 2 cold, donker calls, callers call. Turn: K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] lol welcome to my past three weeks. I check, checks around somehow. River: random blank I think just long enough that I think it looks like I've decided I need to bluff with my flush draw so that A high will call but I probably should have just checked and hoped someone would toss a bluff out I guess. Anyway, Danny calls and the rest fold and he has KJo of course. Luckily I continued last Friday/Saturday session's end game strategy of flopping plenty of pairs with my big cards and actually winning the hands so I ended a rack winner before quitting because I didn't go there to play 20 and it was obvious there was no chance of a 40 starting. |

How do I get off so easy? Early position player raises, and I threebet from cutoff with AKo. Folded to EP and he calls. Flop comes QJJ, he checks, I bet for free card turn, and he calls. Turn comes a 5, and he checks, and I successfully check behind. River is a Q, and I am unsure if I will call a bet, but luckily he checks, so I check behind pretty sure I will be getting at least half of this pot. After my check, he quickly says "I flopped quads" I stare in disbelief, and wonder how I only lost 2 BBs in this heads up hand. Yes, this was in the 20/40 game at Casino AZ.

It was a typical start to my sessions of late at the ol' CP 15 game. 3 hours in, 2 racks down. I was fine with this, the table was good and I was feeling goot, but disaster strikes when one of the three players who were really trying to give it away racks and goes to the 30 game(I'm sure they enjoyed his money). That was fine, it's still a good game play on! right? nope it was a chain reaction. I'm sitting there saying "oh cmon, lets play 5 handed" then "4 handed?" "3handed?!?!?!". And within 2 minutes I'm at the table alone watching everyone leave with a bit of me monies. The floor comes over and pretty much slaps me in the face with "we have a seat open for you at 2-4 or 3-6". No thanks, sleep sounded like more fun.

[/ QUOTE ] lol I had a nice one I forgot about from yesterday, I get in there and sit in a 8 16, seat, wait a couple hands and am not really paying attention, throw out 4 chips for my big blind, look back and apparently I've posted under the gun and the cards are out. The dealer who has dealt to me for years is like "I asked you if you wanted to post" which I didn't hear, obv, and "you shook your head yes". and I say ".....I shook my head yes??" and he just shrugs. Yeah thanks. I stiff him on 2 small pots and then by reflex tip him on a bigger one which I had no intention of doing. argh. |
