I really don't understand why all you guys are calling these rooms over and over again.
There's a reasonable chance that the info you're being given is inaccurate anyway.

We'll find out what happens when it happens. Until then it's kind of guess-work and even the reps from the poker-rooms that you are talking to are likely not entirely in the know.

Seems like some of it is close to, "I just called so-and-so room for the 5th time this week and they said the exact same thing as the other 4 times I called. Just thought I'd give you that update."

Feels somewhat unnecessary.

Hard Rock is about 2 hours away; 75 south to 4 west to Hillsborough Ave. (exit 9). Hamilton Jai-Alai & Poker is about an hour in the other direction; 75 north to exit 451, head west.

[/ QUOTE ]

Just go to I-4 then get off at Exit 6 (Orient Rd.) The rock is about 23.4 seconds off of Exit 6.

Hard Rock is at the corner of Hillsborough and Orient. Either exit works, but coming from the north, it's faster to get off at Hillsborough (I think it's 8, actually, and 9 is the 75 interchange), the first exit someone coming from 75 will encounter. You're coming from the city, from the west.

Also, my friend and I did some apartment hunting for his potentially going pro in the big NL games and Omaha. There's a new apartment complex across Hillsborough from Hard Rock, but it's rougher than it looks. At any rate, it's not balla. Roaches, car breakins, income-controlled, the whole 9. I suggested Brandon or USF for him.

I wouldn't exactly recommend signing a lease here just yet. The Seminole's may have expressed their intent to spread the high limit games but I don't think the pari-mutuels are going to just sit around and do nothing. I expect this to be a hot issue in the coming weeks....

The parimutuels have a tough time competing with the Seminoles as it is. When their businesses start failing I fully expect the state to attempt to come to their rescue like our government always seems to do when it comes to the pari-mutuel industry.

CYBR--The rooms other than Hard Rock will be so busy that they will probably want to turn away customers.

EVERY room in the city is going to be standing room only.........and the losing players will be replaced by a new crop at every venue.

Players are not going to want to wait 2+ hours to get in a game at the HARD ROCK(not to mention the traffic that those 20+ miles away would have to incur in getting to the Hard Rock).

Right now, I think the sleeper room could be TAMPA GREYHOUND.

By the way, if you want to live fairly close to the Hard Rock, consider living in New Tampa which is 12 miles/13 minutes away.............lived there for 5 years and loved it. Very nice neighborhood and will probably move back to there if I stay in Tampa.

Just be smart dont wait. I have seen 2+ hour lines at the Rock and have never waited. Walk up to a brush and tell them what table you would like to sit at and shake their hand with a $5 or $10 if it is really busy.

I wouldnt recomend living anywhere near hardrock. Do yourself a favor and commute 10+ miles. USF has some nice areas to the North (dont go south). Best bet is New Tampa or Carrolwood areas. Good luck.

An advantage to Carrolwood would be living closer to TAMPA DOWNS and TAMPA GREYHOUND.............as well as being close to the HR
